Initiative assists uninsured Minnesotans in finding health care

The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota Foundation awarded grants to five organizations across the state to help low-income residents gain access to health care coverage through state health care programs (Medical Assistance and MinnesotaCare). The organizations will conduct outreach and eligibility screenings, assist individuals with health care program applications, provide guidance in accessing services and support continuous enrollment. The organizations are using Bridge to Benefits to determine potential eligibility for clients and are receivin e-mail referrals from Bridge to Benefits partners in their counties who use the screening tool.  The following organizations were awarded grants and will receive Bridge to Benefits e-mail referrals from partners in the counties they serve:

  • Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency (AEOA)
  • Mahube-Otwa Community Action Partnership
  • Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid
  • Portico Healthnet
  • Western Community Action Inc.
